Empowering local attorneys to rise up to our community’s legal needs.

Supporting core competency and relations in the legal community of Pitkin County.

Welcome to the Pitkin County Bar Association!

We are a dedicated group of 200 legal professionals committed to promoting justice, its administration, and its accessibility to all individuals in our rural mountain county. Our mission is centered around several core goals that drive our actions and shape our purpose.

First and foremost, we strive to ensure that justice is upheld in our community. Through various initiatives, we work tirelessly to promote the fair and equitable resolution of disputes and the provision of competent legal services to all members of our county. We firmly believe in the importance of promptness, efficiency, and the highest standards of professionalism in the legal profession.

At the heart of our association is a strong commitment to upholding the honor and dignity of the bar. We actively foster an environment of respect, integrity, and ethical conduct among our members. By doing so, we aim to enhance the public's understanding of the legal system and cultivate their respect for the legal profession as a whole.

Education is a cornerstone of our association's values. We recognize the ever-evolving nature of the law and the need for continuous learning. Through ongoing legal education programs, we strive to ensure that our members stay abreast of the latest developments in their respective fields. By investing in our professional growth, we can better serve our community with the highest level of expertise and knowledge.

Moreover, we are dedicated to building strong relationships among the lawyers of Pitkin County and Colorado’s 9th Judicial District. Collaboration and mutual support are key to fostering a united legal community that can effectively address the needs of our town. Additionally, we actively engage with the general public to bridge the gap between the legal system and society. We seek to promote understanding, trust, and confidence in the legal profession, enabling meaningful cooperation between the bar and the public we serve.

Preserving the rich history of our profession is another important aspect of our association's mission. We honor the legacy of those who have paved the way before us, acknowledging their contributions to the legal landscape. By preserving our collective history, we gain a deeper appreciation for the legal profession and draw inspiration from the achievements of our predecessors.

In pursuit of our goals and mission, we are committed to undertaking all necessary and convenient actions. We constantly strive to identify new opportunities and initiatives that will further these objectives and enhance the legal landscape of our mountain town.

We invite you to explore our website, connect with our members, and learn more about the Pitkin County Bar Association. Together, we can make a difference in promoting justice, fostering competent legal services, and upholding the principles that are at the core of our profession.

Materials for Learning

Many educational materials in local languages are often out of date. We work with school leaders and publishers to ensure that students have access to current textbooks that are age appropriate and written in their primary language.

Continuing Education for Teachers

We create bespoke continuing education programs to address the needs of teachers and their student communities. From training on the latest technology to new pedagogical methods, we help teachers make their classrooms engaging and successful.

Support for Communities

Education happens within the context of a larger community. Our approach extends beyond the school to help ensure students have the necessary support to do their best learning.

“With the support from Lusaka, we have been able to serve our students better than ever.”

— Alonzo F., School Principal
